Society of St Francis - Companions |
CompanionsThe Society of Saint Francis has always had friends and supporters. Some choose to make an explicit commitment, as Companions, to support the community and make known it's ideals and work. Companions may be friends of the Society, whom we meet during a parish visit and who wish to maintain a link with the community, or they may be people interested in a Franciscan style of Christianity. The Companions promise to support the work and mission of the Society in whatever way they feel able, including prayer for the community. On our part, the Society prays for our Companions and endeavours to keep them informed of our activities through Franciscan Angles. There is a Companions prayer card (that includes some Franciscan prayers), and the Companion's promise. The Companion's cross (which we give to all Companions as a reminder of their commitments) is a version of a traditional If you are a Companion and would like a copy of the card, or have been a Companion some time in the past and would like to renew your commitment, or would just like some more information about Companions, then please contact the Companions link person in Hamilton.
Some Companions renew their promises together and others alone or with a friend.
